Awards & Recognitions
As a cinematographer, I have always looked for new challenges and explored projects from different genres and formats. Below are some of my achievements which I'm happy to share.
BEST EDITOR
Anthyesti is a documentary film made by the students of St. Xavier's college, Kolkata. It revolves around the life inside the Keoratala crematorium in Kolkata and the culture and practices associated with its workings and workers. The documentary features the celebration of its most revered deity- Mahakaal-the God of cremation
Cinematheque 2018
The documentary was critically acclaimed by the panel of judges which included the National award-winning directors Annirudhha Roy Chaudhary best known for his films like "Pink" and "Antaheen" and Suman Mukhopadhyay- best known for his film called "Herbert".
The film was nominated in the categories for "Best short Documentary" and "Best Cinematography". It won in the category of "Best Editor".
OFFICIAL SELECTIONS
The film received its first international recognition in 2020 by a UK film festival in association with Pinewood Studios.
Indian Documentary Film Festival of Bhuvaneshwar, 2018
It received a warm reception when the film won an official selection and was screened by the Indian Documentary Film Festival as a part of "Student Films"
